Former Disney star Lee Thompson Young found dead.

LOS ANGELES - Former Disney star Lee Thompson Young was found dead of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot in his North Hollywood apartment Monday, sources told the Daily News.

Young, 29, was best known for his leading role in the Disney series "The Famous Jett Jackson."He was found unresponsive with a bullet wound to the head by Los Angeles cops about 9 a.m., a law enforcement source told the News.

Cops were called to do a welfare check after Young missed a call time on the set of his current show, the TNT police drama "Rizzoli & Isles," the source said.

Pats release WR Michael Jenkins

The New England Patriots have released veteran wide receiver Michael Jenkins, the team announced Thursday. Jenkins signed with the Patriots in March after playing each of the past two seasons for theMinnesota Vikings. He had 40 catches for 449 yards and two touchdowns last season.

Jenkins, originally a first-round pick by theAtlanta Falcons in 2004, was competing for a roster spot in New England. Danny Amendolaand rookie Aaron Dobson are atop the club's depth chart at wide receiver.

Jenkins, 31, has 354 receptions for 4,427 yards and 25 TDs in his career.

In other moves involving the offensive line, the Patriots placed Tyrone Green on injured reserve and released Kevin Haslam.
